Tehran, November 2025 – As power grids become increasingly complex, the shift from traditional maintenance to predictive strategies has become essential. Addressing this industry need, the IEIPE organized a comprehensive virtual workshop this autumn focused on "Advanced Asset Management & Predictive Maintenance for Power Grid Reliability".
Expert-Led Instruction The workshop, held on November 12th and 13th, was conducted by Dr. Amir Hossein Rezaei, a renowned Senior Consultant in Power System Asset Management. With over 20 years of experience leading global utility projects and a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Dr. Rezaei provided attendees with deep insights into reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and the implementation of digital twins.
Core Themes: AI and Digital Twins The sessions moved beyond theory, offering practical approaches to modernizing grid operations. Key topics covered during the two-day event included:
-
Fundamentals of Asset Management: A deep dive into ISO 55000 standards.
-
Digital Innovation: Utilizing Digital Twin technology to create virtual replicas of power grids for simulation and analysis.
-
Predictive Strategies: leveraging AI and IoT data to predict failures before they occur.
-
Financial Optimization: Risk-Based Maintenance Optimization and Life Cycle Cost Analysis to ensure economic efficiency alongside technical reliability.
Connecting the Industry The workshop attracted a diverse group of participants, including asset managers, maintenance engineers, power system operators, and academic researchers. The virtual format allowed for live, expert-led sessions and interactive Q&A case studies, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas across the sector.
Participants who completed the workshop received an E-Certificate of attendance, validating their updated skills in this critical field.
